Product Overview

The Crestron® ZUMMESH-JBOX-FMKT-CP is an air-tight, metal enclosure that is designed to mount a Zūm J-Box device in a plenum space. The ZUMMESH-JBOX-FMKT-CP maintains compliance with the City of Chicago Environmental Air (CCEA) requirements.1

Convenient Access to Zūm J-Box Device
When installed, the opening of the enclosure is accessible from the room to provide convenient access for Zūm J-Box device installation, wiring, and commissioning. A metal divider provides a convenient mounting point to easily install the Zūm J-Box device, to separate Class 1 and Class 2 wiring, and to ground the system via a grounding tab.2

Versatile Mounting
The ZUMMESH-JBOX-FMKT-CP secures to a stud, hanger, or conduit in the plenum space. Integrated dimples are provided to act as starting points for drilling which prevent drill bits from walking. Seven 1/2 in. and eight 3/4 in. push-back style, air-tight knockouts3 provide flexible mounting options and facilitate running wires to the enclosure.

A white plastic cover secures to the opening of the enclosure to conceal the Zūm J-Box device and to allow wireless communication between other devices in the room. The plastic cover is paintable to match any installation environment.

  1. The enclosure must be mounted so that the open edge of the box is flush to the drop ceiling panel on the room side, or protruding slightly into the room.
  2. The electrical box as well as the equipment installed in the box must be grounded using the included #8 grounding lock washer, #8-32, 3/8 in. grounding screw, and 18 AWG (minimum) wire(s) that is terminated with an appropriate ring terminal(s).
  3. Partially knocking out any opening causes the box to no longer be Chicago Plenum rated.
